CHAPTER TEN: THE LAST DAY

GRYFFIN SCOUT'S HOUSE "Promise me you won't die again!" said Spencer in a tense voice while walking along with JJ Warren. It was about 10 o'clock when the police came to know about Gryffin Scout's kidnapping and hence all of them gathered at the place to investigate. Every other cop was looking inside the house and here were Warren and Spencer outside the house waiting recovering from the peaceful sleep they were in. "I would try my best. Spencer!" said Warren with a tight smile on his face. Miss Marie arrived at the scene at the same time running towards Warren. "Why are you here? it's dangerous!" Warren shouted out, when Marie replied, "What if I was kidnapped while you were looking for clues Warren, I have to be with you, you make me feel safe, and moreover, I will help you in this," said Marie gasping. "She is right, Warren she needs to be here with us!" said Spencer. Warren agreed to her presence when a cop ca...

CHAPTER NINE: THE FEAR

THE STATE HOSPITAL "This is all my fault! I should have told you," said Gryffin in a deep regret because of the current situation. Warren had been hospitalized for an hour now, and the bullets were being taken out of his body and treated. "I knew he was alive," said Gryffin, while Spencer looked at him in deep chaos on his face. Marie ran into the hospital for a sight of Warren when she hugged Spencer tightly. "He is back!" said Marie, "It's all my fault, I told the cops to be undercover, he fought them all and got shot, I shouldn't have done that!" said Spencer, "but how did you know he was alive? you identified his dead body!" asked Spencer. "He came to me a day before I came to your house. My doorbell rang and boom! I saw a lively ghost in front of me, JJ Warren. We sat in my lobby and talked about his survival. When he saved you, Marie, he caught fire and told you both to leave, when you both left, a masked man arrived ...

CHAPTER EIGHT: THE BULLETS-PART 2

THE UNDERCONSTRUCTED BUILDING Spencer landed near the under-constructed building and looked up at the top of it. There was no sign of life nearby when he looked around. He could see a black ground where the bed of fire was laid. Spencer walked up to that part of the ground and looked up to the top of the building giving him memories of the bad day. Spencer filling his heart with rage entered the building. The building had 11 floors and the 12th floor was under construction. Spencer walked up the stairs and didn't look anywhere else. Getting to the top of the building he found a board of a renowned builder named Joseph Green. "Joseph Green! he owed this building, let's see who this man is," said Spencer to himself. Walking down the stairs, Spencer was murmuring a song to himself when he accidentally look at the wall which had a sentence 'But Gryffin can die, save him fast!' "What the hell!" Spencer glanced at the sentence when he eagerly moved down ...

CHAPTER SEVEN: THE BULLETS-PART 1

STATE HOSPITAL Gryffin Scout rushed with Marie and Spencer laid on a stretcher to an empty ward. The two had their eyes dim but they could partially see Gryffin tensely running. Marie and Spencer were admitted to a ward and were operated on for an hour. The doctor finally came out to tell Gryffin that the two were out of danger and needed intense rest. Gryffin took a sigh of relief when a cop entered the hospital's hall to tell Gryffin that JJ Warren's dead body has been found and identified. Gryffin got a slight shiver in his body feeling pity for Warren. The doctors said that he ruthlessly burnt in fire thus his analysis would not be possible, but it was sure, that he was tormented a lot before his death. Gryffin got chills on imagining himself in place of Warren, as all the potential danger was now on Gryffin's mind. A day passed and Spencer finally opened his eyes. Gryffin entered the ward to look at Spencer back to life when all he did was scream loudly and deny the ...

CHAPTER SIX: THE FLAMES

MAYOR'S OFFICE  Gryffin Scout smoked heavily looking out of the window at the moon. "What are my orders sir," said a cop in the room, "I want to meet JJ Warren, as quick as possible, things are getting insane, I can't take further risks, let's see what he has to offer me, contact him tomorrow morning," said Scout.  THE WAREHOUSE From the window at the roof of the warehouse, a can of fuel fell to the floor, after which a matchstick fell, raising flames in the entire space. Warren looked at the rising flames anxiously when he ran to a corner saving himself from the rising flames approaching him. "Why are you doing this?" Warren shouted in a rage, "I will kill you JJ Warren, I promise you, this will be your end, and I am honored to kill such a worthy opponent tonight!" said the echo. "Leave my friends alone, they are innocent, don't hurt them!" shouted Warren, "They will die before you, I assure you of that, and this w...

CHAPTER FIVE: THE KNIGHT ARRIVES

A STREET IN NEW YORK JJ Warren waited outside his office to look at the white ink to move. The masked men loaded their truck completely with the new stuff. Warren was looking at them a distance hidden behind a trash can. The masked men signaled the truck driver to shoot off and entered the truck themselves. One man took a final look around the city to ensure no one was out at this time. As the truck left, warren moved, he was wearing his black coat and pant with black shoes and a black hat to completely cover his face up. Moreover, all the way, he slightly bent himself and moved in the corners detecting the sign of white ink. The ink on some points couldn't leave a mark but Warren somehow detected the path himself leading to the next mark. He moved slowly and took long strides, and tried to go unnoticed by the masked guards patrolling the city with a gun.  These guards looked similar to that old man they caught, the part of their head exposed in the air was burnt, their hands looke...

CHAPTER FOUR: THE DEAD MEN

MISS MARIE'S LABORATORY His face was distorted as if it was burnt a long time ago or an acid must have caused it to be like this. He had a few white hairs on his head, but only a few. He looked in everyone's eye one by one and gave a grin. "You should be ashamed of yourself old man! in your age, you must look after your grandchildren, and here you are destroying everyone's peace," said Spencer looking at the ugly old man, who gave a grin to Spencer. "He cannot speak, but he hears everything," said Miss Marie. "How about that officer Marie?" asked Warren, "He is alright, he must be normal after asleep," said Marie. "His hands are burnt, that's why they never left any fingerprints, right Marie?" said Spencer, "Right," Marie answered in a low voice. Warren bent towards the old man and gave him a piece of paper, "Write your name here," said Warren. The old man didn't show any action, "Do you kn...

CHAPTER THREE: THE NEW ORDER

A STREET IN NEW YORK The moon had grown blue and was preparing to be covered in the blanket of clouds which might soon make it difficult for the guards of the city to keep an eye on the enemy. The shivering breeze was filling up the space, stray dogs and cats were all sleeping in their corners. The homeless still suffered from the helplessness of sleeping under parked carriages, because flakes of snow covered the ground. The snow looked pretty in the evening while the pretty market was usually, selling lights, and cakes in the month of December when all were awaiting Christmas.  A stream of blood was being marked on the middle of the road which was flowing and changing the white snow, dark red. I child's bloodstained head was being dragged on the road with his body being held in hands of a masked man. During the investigation of Kingwill, a five-year-old's body was still missing and this was it. The killer without feeling even a tiny bit of mercy and pain dragged the dead ch...

CHAPTER TWO: THE HERO

JJ WARREN'S OFFICE 'Dark though and through, but it is never there, Not a disease but can make you sick for years, You can't touch it, You can't hear, But when the hero arrives, it disappears' "Are you clever enough to solve that Mr. Warren?" said Miss Marie a new college of JJ Warren and a new medical analyst in the office. Miss Marie was a young bright beautiful woman with long brown hair and blue eyes capable enough to take Warren and Spencer's heart. Marie joined a week ago but made friends with most of the people in the office who were mostly men. "Mr. Warren! can you?" asked this beautiful dream woman, "Maybe, I can," said Warren in a nervous tone. Warren was always on his toes whenever he would be around Marie for he could never afford to make a mistake that would possibly turn her off. As a man loses his mind, so did Warren lost his whenever she would be around. "Well, maybe you could," said Marie with a soft smi...

CHAPTER ONE: THE POWER

NEW YORK,  December 1890 Fixing his hair with his hands and fixing his tie before he could give a speech, Gryffin Scout was a very scared man. Picking up the portrait of his mother and father he kissed it following a smile and then kept it on the table back taking a sigh, he walked out of the room to the stage where the crowd awaited him.  "My dear fellows, it's an owner to be addressing you all on this occasion," shouted Gryffin to the public who eagerly heard their 35-year-old young and bright politician on the stage, "It's hard to trust any politician these days, be it a younger one or an older one with gray hair, but I assure you all, my mom and dad are looking at me from the stars and they won't let me lie, not today when I kissed the cheek of my father's portrait and someone who always taught me the political ethics and how to apply them for benefit of mankind, and not my own pocket," Gryffin spoke for the next thirty minutes on how a man like ...
