CHAPTER SEVEN: THE BULLETS-PART 1

 STATE HOSPITAL

Gryffin Scout rushed with Marie and Spencer laid on a stretcher to an empty ward. The two had their eyes dim but they could partially see Gryffin tensely running. Marie and Spencer were admitted to a ward and were operated on for an hour. The doctor finally came out to tell Gryffin that the two were out of danger and needed intense rest. Gryffin took a sigh of relief when a cop entered the hospital's hall to tell Gryffin that JJ Warren's dead body has been found and identified. Gryffin got a slight shiver in his body feeling pity for Warren. The doctors said that he ruthlessly burnt in fire thus his analysis would not be possible, but it was sure, that he was tormented a lot before his death. Gryffin got chills on imagining himself in place of Warren, as all the potential danger was now on Gryffin's mind.

A day passed and Spencer finally opened his eyes. Gryffin entered the ward to look at Spencer back to life when all he did was scream loudly and deny the reality of his friend's death. After crying for some time, he stopped and slept again. After a few hours, Marie opened her eyes and looked around at the walls of the hospital looking for signs of Warren's presence, but just couldn't feel anything. After a few days, the two were discharged from the hospital, when they regained their health. They regained their physical health but were broke mentally. Spencer and Marie remained in their house for the next few days and didn't show up at work when Marie finally decided to meet and talk to Spencer at his house.

SPENCER'S HOUSE

Near dawn, both sat in a garden of Spencer's house. "He held the suspect tightly and wanted him to answer, but the suspect didn't say anything, and neither was he afraid to die. Meanwhile, Gunther Fisk tortured Olivia. After the suspect finally died, James finally left to find out his love was dead," recited Spencer, the story of JJ Warren's tragedy while Marie listened to why would Warren take such a risk for her life. "He died because of me," said Marie shredding a tear from her eye. "No, it was both of us, who are responsible for him," said Spencer. The house bell rang at the same moment when Gryffin Scout entered the garden.

"I hope, you both are healthy," said Gryffin, "We are just fine Mr. Scout, how can we help you?" asked Spencer rubbing a tear off his face. "There is one good thing that has happened, the masked men had broken the new order set up by them and now people are free, they are all roaming out there, my policemen are guarding the entire place," said Gryffin. "That's strange, but I don't think they would stop," said Marie. "Exactly, so I think the danger is not over yet!" said Gryffin. "They are coming after you sir, you are their next target, you need to be safe," said Spencer, "Yes, about that, look, Spencer, this could be hard for you, but I need you to take over this case now!" said Gryffin, "I can never, replace JJ Warren, he was exceptional! I can't..." said Spencer, "You can! and you need to, you are my last hope Spencer, don't disappoint me," said Gryffin. "He is right Spencer, someone has to take up the charge, and I think you should," said Marie. Spencer paused for a while but then finally agreed. "Alright! let's see what can be done," said Spencer standing up along the other two.

MAYOR'S OFFICE

Spencer dressed up in his new detective clothes and entered the Mayor's office filled with commotion. "I want to talk to some cops in private, I need 15 cops for this, Mayor's life is in danger, and I can't risk what happened last time," said Spencer to the head office. After sitting there on a bench and waiting for cops to arrive, Spencer felt the spirit of Warren inside of him. 'I can't replace you,' thought Spencer, when the cops finally arrived.

"Alright, here is the plan. Our killer drugged one of the guards last time, so I need some tough ones to be around Gryffin, and five of you would do that," said Spencer and directed five strong and well-built cops to stand apart. Now the ten of you would be the undercover game. You dress like commoners or workers of this office and roam at the entrance, the hall, the corridor, and outside Gryffin's office, and even in the toilet! be anywhere where you think the killer might easily enter because he is not going to attack you, he would attack these five," said Spencer directing the ten cops, "Don't make it look too obvious, switch your places each time, but make sure that at least one of you is present at each of these places!" the cops nodded their heads, "And one last thing, carry as many bullets as you can, and use them when the situation calls!" said Spencer.

JJ WARREN'S OFFICE

The officers were present at the place on Spencer's command when Spencers walked up to Warren's office. Empty, that was something Spencer was feeling without Warren in the room when he looked around and remembered how Warren used to sit on his desk to check up on some evidence and tease Spencer.

Spencer walked up to Warren's desk and looked out of the window. He could see birds chirping and the mother bird feeding her children. He also used to look at this beautiful scenery at times. Spencer gathered some strength and decided to avenge his friend's death heading outside the office to find some new clues.

The Key to Deception

Jordan Kingsley was a man with some bad habits but a good sense of business. His fortune had afforded him many advantages, including various artifacts and awards that adorned his large hall. However, the most prized possession he had acquired in his lifetime was a set of ten rare beads, each worth a million dollars. This fact wasn't a secret among his acquaintances, who included his elder brother, Benjamin Kingsley, his wife, Harriet Kingsley, and their son, Clinton Kingsley. Unfortunately, Clinton was autistic, though remarkably creative, and Jordan felt a special bond with him, sponsoring his education out of genuine love rather than pity. Jordan was selective about those he let into his heart, reserving his true affection for those who earned it. This often excluded his own brother, his brother's wife, and even his business partners. Harriet, aware of Jordan's distant relationship with her son, made efforts to keep Clinton away from Jordan, fearing that the uncle's ...

CHAPTER SIX: THE FLAMES

MAYOR'S OFFICE  Gryffin Scout smoked heavily looking out of the window at the moon. "What are my orders sir," said a cop in the room, "I want to meet JJ Warren, as quick as possible, things are getting insane, I can't take further risks, let's see what he has to offer me, contact him tomorrow morning," said Scout.  THE WAREHOUSE From the window at the roof of the warehouse, a can of fuel fell to the floor, after which a matchstick fell, raising flames in the entire space. Warren looked at the rising flames anxiously when he ran to a corner saving himself from the rising flames approaching him. "Why are you doing this?" Warren shouted in a rage, "I will kill you JJ Warren, I promise you, this will be your end, and I am honored to kill such a worthy opponent tonight!" said the echo. "Leave my friends alone, they are innocent, don't hurt them!" shouted Warren, "They will die before you, I assure you of that, and this w...
