CHAPTER EIGHT: THE BULLETS-PART 2

 THE UNDERCONSTRUCTED BUILDING

Spencer landed near the under-constructed building and looked up at the top of it. There was no sign of life nearby when he looked around. He could see a black ground where the bed of fire was laid. Spencer walked up to that part of the ground and looked up to the top of the building giving him memories of the bad day. Spencer filling his heart with rage entered the building. The building had 11 floors and the 12th floor was under construction. Spencer walked up the stairs and didn't look anywhere else. Getting to the top of the building he found a board of a renowned builder named Joseph Green. "Joseph Green! he owed this building, let's see who this man is," said Spencer to himself.

Walking down the stairs, Spencer was murmuring a song to himself when he accidentally look at the wall which had a sentence 'But Gryffin can die, save him fast!' "What the hell!" Spencer glanced at the sentence when he eagerly moved down the stairs, thinking there would be more to this, 'And laughing kings behind the mask', Spencer read this and moved further down, 'Scared kings with faces red' the sentences were making a bit sense when he found one last sentence, 'The ghosts of past must be fed', "A riddle! they left a riddle!" said Spencer. Reversing the order of these sentences Spencer formed a riddle-

'The ghosts of past must be fed

Scared kings with faces red,

And laughing kings behind the mask,

But Gryffin can die, save him fast!'

Spencer looked around the entire building again for a few moments to find some new clues but couldn't find anything except this new riddle. Spencer left the place with the riddle in his mind to ponder over.

JOSEPH GREEN'S OFFICE

Spencer finally entered the office of Joseph Green when he looked at an old man sitting at the table writing a letter, "Are you Joseph Green?" Spencer asked, "No, I am his father, Joseph my son passed away a week ago, after which I had taken the charge of his pending work, how can I help you?" said the old man. "The 64th avenue building, did that belong to your son?" Spencer asked, "Indeed, that's the place where he died!" said the old man with his watery eyes. "I am sorry for your loss sir, but can you tell me the reason for his death?" asked Spencer, "Why? Who are you?" the old man asked firmly, "I am Charles Spencer, late JJ Warren's assistant, I am the in charge of the masked men case and I need your help, so please tell me how he died," said Spencer. "I don't know how my son died, but he was murdered, he had bruises on his body, multiple cuts, and was beaten up badly, who could be so inhuman to do that!" said the old man bursting out crying. Spencer comforted him, and asked, "Why didn't you file a complaint to the police!" asked Spencer. "We freaked out! we didn't know what to do," said the crying old man.

"The ghosts of the past! scared kings, laughing kings, kings were scared when they didn't wear a mask? but kings were laughing after they did it!" said Spencer coming out of the office. "Kings are the masked men, oh my God! the answer is in history!" shouted Spencer figuring out the secret of masked men. He started running to his office in a stream of joy to finally have cracked the riddle when he decided to leave for Mayor's office to ask for records.

MAYOR'S OFFICE

The cops were deployed in their respective positions, when the cop at the entrance saw a man in a black and white suit, hiding his face with his hands avoiding a sneeze and his hair spread all over his face covering his eyes. The man walked into the office, and the cop got a bit alarmed. The man entered the hall and headed towards the toilet where another cop was peeing. The man didn't make any eye contact with the cop and slipped his hand into his coat. The entrance cop entered the office and alarmed the other cops to be ready. He slipped out his hand from the coat taking out his mask and wore it. "Hey! put your hands on your back and kneel!" shouted the cop in the toilet when the masked man took out a gun and shot the cop a bullet which missed him.

The man ran out of the toilet being chased by the other cop when the undercover cops sighted him wearing a mask. The masked man kicked and punched all the cops trying to catch him when he realized that all these were undercover. The cops caught hold of him when he kicked the balls of one cop and ran. The cops now held their guns and shot numerous bullets at the masked man creating horror in the office for all the workers who made a huge crowd. The crowd ran outside the office when the cops missed the sight of the masked man. The masked man taking advantage of the situation caught hold of a cop and choked his neck with his arm pointing a gun at him.

All the cops quit shooting at the man when he took out a sphere from his sleeve and dropped it on the floor. The man then crushed the sphere and kicked it in the center of the corridor when the sphere started to spread heavy smoke in the entire office. The smoke made it difficult for the cops to look at the masked man and they struggled to sight him. The masked man then slowly pulled the trigger of his gun when no bullets were fired. "His bullets are over! come get this asshole!" the cop shouted setting himself free and punching the masked man. The man kicked the cop and ran around the office.

Spencer saw the crowd running out of the office when he jumped right into the office to save Gryffin Scout. The office filled with smoke became a game of hiding and seek. The masked man slowly crawled to Gryffin's office when a bullet was fired at him. The bullet went straight near his mask but failed to touch him, "He's near the door! get here everyone!" shouted the cop. Spencer arrived near Gryffin's door when the masked men punched Spencer hard in the face. But Spencer tightly answered him by holding a rod and smashing it on his face. Two cops arrived at the door and shot numerous bullets at the masked man but they missed him when one bullet hit his back. The man slipped on the floor when another cop shot another bullet at his back.

"All clear! stay down!" shouted a cop. Gryffin's guards opened the door when Gryffin could see the fallen masked man. The masked man crawled on the floor with blood flowing from his back. The smoke was finally getting clear when everyone pointed a gun at the nearly dead masked man when Spencer kneeled down to him, "Asshole! you failed today! and now you will fail!" said Spencer holding his mask. Spencer snatched the mask from the man's face to discover who was hiding behind it when Spencer's face went pale with shock. Gryffin also saw the real face of this man but he was not so affected by it, while all the other cops were in shock to see his real face.

"James!" shouted Spencer looking at his nearly dead friend who was supposedly this masked man. "It was you!" shouted Spencer when JJ Warren, gave a smirk to his friend and closed his eyes.

The Key to Deception

Jordan Kingsley was a man with some bad habits but a good sense of business. His fortune had afforded him many advantages, including various artifacts and awards that adorned his large hall. However, the most prized possession he had acquired in his lifetime was a set of ten rare beads, each worth a million dollars. This fact wasn't a secret among his acquaintances, who included his elder brother, Benjamin Kingsley, his wife, Harriet Kingsley, and their son, Clinton Kingsley. Unfortunately, Clinton was autistic, though remarkably creative, and Jordan felt a special bond with him, sponsoring his education out of genuine love rather than pity. Jordan was selective about those he let into his heart, reserving his true affection for those who earned it. This often excluded his own brother, his brother's wife, and even his business partners. Harriet, aware of Jordan's distant relationship with her son, made efforts to keep Clinton away from Jordan, fearing that the uncle's ...

CHAPTER SIX: THE FLAMES

MAYOR'S OFFICE  Gryffin Scout smoked heavily looking out of the window at the moon. "What are my orders sir," said a cop in the room, "I want to meet JJ Warren, as quick as possible, things are getting insane, I can't take further risks, let's see what he has to offer me, contact him tomorrow morning," said Scout.  THE WAREHOUSE From the window at the roof of the warehouse, a can of fuel fell to the floor, after which a matchstick fell, raising flames in the entire space. Warren looked at the rising flames anxiously when he ran to a corner saving himself from the rising flames approaching him. "Why are you doing this?" Warren shouted in a rage, "I will kill you JJ Warren, I promise you, this will be your end, and I am honored to kill such a worthy opponent tonight!" said the echo. "Leave my friends alone, they are innocent, don't hurt them!" shouted Warren, "They will die before you, I assure you of that, and this w...
