Money, Health, and Character

'If wealth is lost, nothing is lost, If health is lost, something is lost, If the character is lost, everything is lost,' - Swami Vivekanand THE PIECE OF PAPER Money can't buy you happiness. There is this weird trend going on the internet to prove this proverb wrong, for no reason. What they do is, display images of some big tycoons or CEOs and comment sarcastically to see, how sad they are. They are usually Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk and Steve Jobs, and many others, but mostly these, and the irony is that all of them have been through a divorce. Their wives have left them, we never know for what really, but we are still busy considering them happy, because of their money. Most of them have had a severe divorce, and just think about how harsh the reality could have been if they are all divorced. Imagine the depth of all those years of trauma and pain Steve Job's wife would have gone through before taking this decision and that too so many years later. We still do not know w...

Treat People, like People-Part 1

On a usual day at my college, I got free early when I got a message from one of the juniors whom I was guiding through for a year. I finally got a chance to meet him in real life, and I was somewhat curious about how this person might act in real life because a matter of fact that people are sometimes pretending to be someone else on the internet. But to my surprise, this dude was genuinely the same. We talked about our professional life for quiet some time and I also illustrated some of my communication skills after talking to a random couple and asking about their love life. That is hard for most people, to talk to some random person, but this I believe surely gave him a boost in talking to people confidently. We talked for quiet some time more when he finally came to his final question which fascinated me somewhat. Let me state the question here- "I am in a group of friends, and we usually operate together. We have lunch together, we play together, and we sit together in class...

THE DON: CHAPTER 7

Jake Andersen checked in the hotel and enquired about Harry Hagen's room, and learned that he went straight up to his room to be welcomed by his chief bodyguard Oliver. Harry had been waiting since morning on his chair with an opened window giving a beautiful view of Philadelphia. Jake Entered the room when Harry's sight went sharp on him. "Don Harry! a pleasure seeing you!" said Jake, "Pleasure is mine," Harry said in a low voice shaking hands with Jake and giving him a seat in front of him. Oliver too sat on a chair next to them. THE DON: CHAPTER 6

Don Harry Hagen, sits on his throne in Brooklyn. With Don Vito's blessings, this new Don began his day planning to normalize the business with six families. After a month of Hobbie's death, it was ever difficult for anyone to figure out who killed Hobbie Brown, Harry became what he feared and maybe that's every man's fate. You become what you fear, Harry wore a blue coat and pants with brown polished shoes. A white shirt with a blue tie. Mostly the members of crime families and Dons would wear suits for they never knew in whose wedding they might have to go, and also whose funeral it might be next? Hagen learned about the business from Vito for this entire month and was ready to take action for he was a Don by blood. This was the same boy who was helpless at age of seven, and the same man who was one of the most powerful crime families, at age of thirty. Harry also grew a beard in this while and looked like an absolute don. A new life began from this day. The six famil...

THE DON: CHAPTER 5

It was a winter evening with roads and allies covered all over with snow. The commotion was regular on the streets, and children were playing as usual. Lamp posts were lightened up but were also covered with snow. Harry Hagen was walking down the lane and watching everything he goes by on the road. Soon he stopped at a local coffee shop where Don Vito had been waiting for him. "My father wanted the best for me, he never wanted me to be in this life and now I know why?" said Hagen, "I knew him, we did business, a very sorted man and a good father, but he could never differentiate loyalty and dishonesty," said Don Vito, "It was a Sicilian Don Antonio on the phone last night, I told him to call you, but he had very little time, so he couldn't complete his word,". "What is it Vito, tell me," "Six families have united and want your assassination, they want you dead, for ruining their businesses, and Antonio was one of them," "They ...
