THE WIZARD- ACT 3

 SCENE 1

London, A street, Outside Thomas Geedar's house

Eadger: That wasn't difficult, but I doubt, whatever he said was true or not, but hey, I did my job and gathered all the certificates and proof we need to tell if he is lying or not.

Charlie: Where did you find the proof?

Eadger: He keeps everything under his bed. Maybe because he needs to show proof to everyone who shows up to his show. But how was the story? what did he tell?

Charlie: He told a hell lot of details about his life, but I'll read you only the relevant parts-

Thomas William Geedar was born in Venice, in the year 1921, to the Geedar family. His father William Geedar was a normal cobbler and his mother Rose Geedar did odd jobs in the neighborhood. Thomas always had the ignite to perform magic while his father and mother always resisted the idea of him becoming a magician, and wanted him to study hard and become some doctor. But Thomas would bunk his school to go around the city and show people magic tricks. Soon Thomas started earning a small amount of money, until his father caught him, beat him up, and withdrew him from his school to work along with him. Thomas felt tortured for over a year until he left the house and fled away to live his passion.

Thomas fell in love with a girl named Lily, but Lily was 10 years older than him and got married at a very early age, which broke Thomas' heart and he decided to devote his life to magic. Thomas got into many street shows and stole the hearts of the people of Venice until he turned 20 and got a letter from his mother, telling him that his father was no more. Thomas rushed back to his house and gave a funeral to his father and decided to carry on with his life with his father's will, but his mother intervened and told him to carry on with his passion for magic. Thomas always had a friend since childhood named Roger Elvis, who gave Thomas a debt of money for him to go to London and become a great magician.

After 10 years of struggle, Thomas finally got a chance to prove himself, and he did the greatest magic trick of his life, which surpassed all expectations. And Thomas got his name in every other mouth.

Eadger: Ah, a story well made, I was thinking about a theory Charles, and it says that Thomas' father was also a magician and he helped him in that trick and took that place. But according to this story, his father died when he was 20, so this theory is wrong. Well, let's get back to the office and decide what we need to do next. And yes, I want you to find out more about Lily, and Thomas' childhood friend Roger Elvis, bring them here if possible.

Charlie: Sure but what next?

SCENE 2

Next morning, London, Eadger's office

Eadger: This is unbelievable, his father's death certificate shows the same date as he mentioned, and so does his mother's!

Charlie: Not surprised, he was very confident while telling the story, maybe he was telling the truth.

Eadger: But how can this happen! how could someone transform themselves into an old man!

Charlie: Maybe he was actually using duplicates, maybe he did exactly as David mentioned to him in the show

Eadger: Maybe? I want to examine his age, I want him to report here tomorrow, we will test how old is he and if he is 60 years of age, we get him!

Charlie: He is too smart Ed, why do you think he wouldn't prepare? and moreover, we lied to him that we are writers, why will he come?

Roger Elvis and Lily enter the office

Charlie: Oh here they are!

Roger: Detective Eadger and Charlie?

Eadger: Without a doubt! you are at the right place, Mr. Elvis, and Mrs. Lily, I have a few questions for you two, and I hope you will cooperate.

Lily: Sure detective, I had brought my marriage certificate as you told me, here you go (hands over marriage certificate to Eadger)

Eadger: Doctor Harrington Smith, is that right?

Lily: Yes, I loved Thomas as much as he did, but our families didn't like the idea of us marrying, so they made me marry Dr. Smith. But he is a nice man, he took care of me for all these years. Thomas' chapter closed from my life the day I married him.

Charlie: Obviously, no one would want their daughters to marry a ten-year-old child!

Roger: My I speak something?

Eadger: Sure Roger! we are here to listen to you. And please be warned, that if you speak bullshit and lies, you will be behind bars until evening.

Roger: I never thought I would be reminded of this, Thomas and I haven't talked to each other for a very long time, and I only knew him as a kid. He was like a brother to me, but he fell apart when his father died. His mother always took great care of him after that, and she even came to London along with him. Since then I lost touch with the two, so, if this is about any event after that, I might not be of help.

Charlie: You are very much of help Mr. Elvis, all we wanted to know was to confirm that the story Thomas made up is correct. And here onwards we would like you to try not to contact him or inform him that an investigation is going on. I hope we are clear.

SCENE 3

Evening, Thomas Geedar's house

Thomas is sitting in his lobby when Eadger knocks on the door and enters the place.

Eadger: May I come in?

Thomas: NO!

Eadger: You broke my heart with that answer!

Charlie: May I?

Thomas: Yes you may! you were a very keen listener! I like people who like listening to me!

Eadger: (Laughing) Well, today is my turn then! and to do so, I need to come in.

Thomas: Alright, come in! (laughs)

Eadger: Pleasure meeting you again (shakes hand, and sticks a needle in Thomas's hand by mistake taking out blood)

Thomas: Ouch! what was that!

Eadger: Oh my God! I am so sorry sir, actually, I was tucking up a button on my coat's sleeve last night and forgot to take out the needle. Charles! give a cloth. (Charlie gives a cloth and Eadger tries to wrap up Thomas' hand)

Thomas: It's okay, Alright, I would insist you gentlemen leave, I can't entertain you in such a condition, I might need to apply some medicine. I am so sorry.

Eadger: No, actually we are sorry, I just came here to get some tickets for your legendary show that you will perform next week.

Thomas: That would be sweet of you both, I keep the passes in my pocket, here you go, these are your special passes for the show, and try to be on time! (Thomas hands over two passes to Charlie and Eadger)

Eadger: Thank you so much Mr. Geedar, see you at the show then

Exit Thoma Geedar

Charlie: Well, that was a clever shot, I never thought how will you get his blood samples.

Eadger: Give this cloth to the lab experts, and tell them to find the results before next week. I want to expose him in front of the whole world as we learn his real age.

Charlie: Sure, but don't you think it would be unpleasant to ruin his biggest show of life.

Eadger: He had his biggest show running for thirty years. It's not about those one or two hours of illusion, but the thirty years of illusion he showed to the world. The pork was always there, and we couldn't see it, Charles.

The Key to Deception

Jordan Kingsley was a man with some bad habits but a good sense of business. His fortune had afforded him many advantages, including various artifacts and awards that adorned his large hall. However, the most prized possession he had acquired in his lifetime was a set of ten rare beads, each worth a million dollars. This fact wasn't a secret among his acquaintances, who included his elder brother, Benjamin Kingsley, his wife, Harriet Kingsley, and their son, Clinton Kingsley. Unfortunately, Clinton was autistic, though remarkably creative, and Jordan felt a special bond with him, sponsoring his education out of genuine love rather than pity. Jordan was selective about those he let into his heart, reserving his true affection for those who earned it. This often excluded his own brother, his brother's wife, and even his business partners. Harriet, aware of Jordan's distant relationship with her son, made efforts to keep Clinton away from Jordan, fearing that the uncle's ...

CHAPTER SIX: THE FLAMES

MAYOR'S OFFICE  Gryffin Scout smoked heavily looking out of the window at the moon. "What are my orders sir," said a cop in the room, "I want to meet JJ Warren, as quick as possible, things are getting insane, I can't take further risks, let's see what he has to offer me, contact him tomorrow morning," said Scout.  THE WAREHOUSE From the window at the roof of the warehouse, a can of fuel fell to the floor, after which a matchstick fell, raising flames in the entire space. Warren looked at the rising flames anxiously when he ran to a corner saving himself from the rising flames approaching him. "Why are you doing this?" Warren shouted in a rage, "I will kill you JJ Warren, I promise you, this will be your end, and I am honored to kill such a worthy opponent tonight!" said the echo. "Leave my friends alone, they are innocent, don't hurt them!" shouted Warren, "They will die before you, I assure you of that, and this w...
