Everything is fair in love and war. This was going to be true today. The morning began with spotting some jets approaching us when general luke was being informed of the upcoming attack. And the bombs fell on the cabin blowing it up into nothing. And the shouting began, our soldiers held their guns took their positions, and got ready to attack. This was something we did not expect but it was indeed not the Japanese army but the Britishers and they were planning this attack for us. "It's a trap, beware! it's a trap!" the word was echoing in the base into every other ear including mine and we weren't prepared for what can happen next and another blast. And then one more blast from somewhere. We could see their men approaching us till now and all we could do was help each other stand. Burnt faces were in front of me, men bleeding, their corpse laid on the ground, it was a horrific episode to see, and I got to see Adam firing at someone, their army had entered our zone. It was all upon firing now. I held my gun and started to point at the enemies. They were like a swarm of bees, running in aggression approaching us. I was not so conscious at that moment so all I was doing was hiding and escaping and whoever I could spot as an enemy, I was killing him. Another bombing from their side and we would be dead, dead weak. Most of our men had already died but I thought I could estimate. But I couldn't even estimate, in this kind of situation.
"Corporal Mark! get your ass here!" my one ear heard this from somewhere in a feeble tone. My other ear wasn't working and started to look here and there when a tight slap came on my cheek. Adam! I assumed but it was Luke. But his slap made my ears working, and along with him was Adam, "we need to talk! you have a mission," said the general. His face was red with rage when clearing our way out he made someplace to talk, "The Japanese and Chinese army had attacked the Russians, our clone army is present there, you need to get there as soon as possible and order the clones to return here for our help," the General said, "But what about Russians!" I said, "Fuck them! 700 men of ours had already died we are half weaker than before, get them as soon as you can," he shouted. Adam found an empty truck for me and gave me a place, "Here you go, Mark!" he exclaimed. Luckily I knew how to drive, so I shot off for the Russians. Getting myself out I could see another British jet approaching the place when a teardrop fell on my cheek. All I could see was men killing another man and then there were snow-laden walls of hills.
I drove as fast as I could and only carried only two weapons along, my riffle and hope. Arriving at the base, I could see acid bombs felling upon the war zone in jets and these acid bombs were melting down our clones. And my mouth got wide open with shock looking at the scene. All our hard work was melted down, some clones were somehow still alive when I thought I could get them back. But first I need to talk to the Russian soldiers. Entering inside the base I could see the top of the hill laid with men. Of course, they had cleared the top when the Japanese would have arrived. The acid bombs were killing not only the clones but were also giving ruthless deaths to Russian soldiers. The Japanese really knew how to play with their toys.
I made my way out of the truck and landed on the ground heading myself to the Russian head. Approaching him wasn't so easy in the war zone but I somehow made my way into the camp. "Corporal Mark Sir!" I gave a salute to the general who looked at me with a doubt, "Why are you here?" he asked in his broken tone of Russian mixed with English, "I am here to fetch the clone army we sent here on orders of General Luke," and this shocked the general for he felt wronged, "But they were sent for us isn't it?" he asked in a shock, "That's very true sir, but for now our army has grown weak sir, 700 men were killed by the Britishers," this surprised the general even more, "But how are we going to deal with two nations then? they are much powerful than us alone!" the general shouted, "and moreover, half of your clones had died!" saying this the general stopped and peeped out of the camp to see Chinese bombing to begin.
"You should leave immediately boy! they had started the bombing and we need to make this place clear as soon as we can! leave corporal!" the general shouted and I ran out of his office empty-handed. Running into the war zone, I paused in the mid and embraced the fear in my teardrops which now started running on my cheek. I was left for no side to go, when I took out a photograph from my uniform which kept near my chest, near my heart. The photograph of my mom and sister which I looked at and burst out crying even more and tightly held to my heart, closing my eyes. All alone! but then I heard a fierce scream of men behind and was about to look back when the blast took me along with it in the air. And then I fell back on the ground with my half of the body burning and wounded. Felling on the ground, I didn't close my eyes, they closed on their own and I fell asleep.
Opening my eyes, I saw the moon in the sky and could observe some men fell on the ground too. And couldn't even scream to my anger even when I tried really hard. And then with all my energy tried to pull myself up again on my feet but fell back on the ground. I couldn't rise that night, and the thought I might have died and I am currently in hell was killing me. So, I tried again to rise but failed. But this time, after falling on the ground I closed my eyes and went to a night of deep sleep. I guess the next time I opened my eyes would be probably after weeks but I was not in the mood to walk, but luckily I observed four men picking me up to get me laid on the stretcher. And I closed my eyes again.
