HOUSE OF THE LOST- CHAPTER 1

"Just run, don't look back" Peter listened with his eyes closed. His eyes were closed because what now he was facing is called fear. Fear of not surviving, fear of not coming back home. And Peter opened his eyes to see a cave turned tunnel in front of him, on the other side of which was a mystery. For now, he could just the other part of the hilly forest but the legend says, "whoever goes into the tunnel, will disappear into nothingness". No one knows what happens when one enters the tunnel. Peter, screamed in his rage and began his rush towards the cave. And as he entered the cave he closed his eyes again and kept running. Soon he could feel a moist and cold breeze touching his face and his nude arms with folded sleeves. And then he opened his eyes.

Opening his eyes Peter halted and looked around. In front of him, there were footsteps with moss and grass-grown all around. A cold hazy fog covering him like a blanket, and a blue moon spreading its glow all around the haze making it easier for Peter to look around, obviously, not that clear. On the sides, there was a garden, not a forest, but a lovely garden with the smell of a nightingale and trees neatly trimmed all around. It seemed like heaven for Peter for a while, but the prettiest places, contain the ugliest secrets. He kept on moving up where the steps would lead him and very shortly he was near a house. The house was dirty from the outside and there were bloodstains too on the walls and some scratches. The house seemed like a wicked belonging of an old idiot which it actually was but it seemed dark.

Peter was confused when he started looking around and finally shouted for help. Looking up at the terrace he could a shadow of a man in a cape gazing at him. Peter was a bit chilled with the sight of him. "Excuse me! I need some help!" and as he said that, this shadow disappeared. Peter was disgusted with this behavior when he heard the sound of an incoming horse with a rider on it. Finally some help, Peter thought. The rider looked like an old prince of some old kingdom when democracy was ruled by hierarchy. He got sight of Peter when the rider removed his butt from the back of the horse and came down.

"Excuse me, I need some help..." Peter was about to say, when the prince said, "Oh! another lost spirit, don't worry just follow me." said the prince. Peter was confused when the prince said, "My name is Bill Williams fourth. Son of Bill Williams Third, you probably would have heard about my proud father in history haven't you?" said Bill, "No!" answered Peter when Bill struck with a sense of amusing shame with which he tried again, "Maybe, you would have missed that part, think again, it might be a little box of did you know column." said Bill in a nervous tone expecting something in return, "No, no sir I am not sure about it." said Peter when Bill murmured, "Dirty swines, couldn't include us in history," Peter was still confused when Bill said, "Anyways, welcome to a new world, years ago I also got lost in this jungle and entered the cave which landed me here. And don't worry there are more like us in here. Just get inside and we'll get an introduction to all." Bill and said patting on Peter's back and walked along with him in the house. "We call it, the house of the lost, but probably, this is our home," said Bill and opened the door. This house was the most beautiful thing Peter would have seen in his entire life. There were portraits of ladies and preachers all around. A giant hall with a huge staircase, and a big dining table in the house.

"Tony! Elsa! Marie! Argus! common we have a new friend and some pig meat, which I got." shouted Bill. "The house seems small from outside but is a mansion from the inside. That's an illusion," explained Bill to Peter whose mouth was open with amazement. "Where's the mead, I'm starving dude!" came out Tony with Elsa, who said, "Same here bring me meat". Then came Marie, "You little bastards care about meat, while we have a gentleman with us," said Marie and headed for a handshake with Peter, " Hello, my name is Marie, I was lost in 1923". "Oh! My name is Tony and I was lost in 2007," said Tony, "And I am..." Elsa was about to say something when, Peter said, "You are Elsa, lost a week ago on an expedition." "How do you know?" asked Elsa, "Well I saw on the news," answered Peter, "And why are you the same for so many years, don't you all age up?",

"No we don't," said Bill,

"Why?" asked Peter,

"Because we are all dead!" answered Bill which threw off a jolt of surprise on Peter's face followed by Bill's laughter, "I am amusing you friend. Time doesn't work here like it works outside. We do not age but we have been living here for the exact number of years we were lost. So, in simple words, yes you can say we are all dead."

"And I am Argus! Lost in an era before christ according to the newcomers." came a voice from the stairs with incoming of the old man of the house Argus. "Life is unpredictable, and full miseries but time teaches a lot. It was me who was gazing at you from the above. But don't judge me too soon, it wasn't in my privilege at that time but I promise, maybe later, I will help you." said the old Argus putting everyone under silence. Peter was a bit nervous because he was facing someone with a larger experience in time than him. Peter saw him as a newborn sees the dead one. "He is our most respected member of the house," said Tony, and Argus directed his hand of friendship towards Peter, "Youngblood, let's be friends," said Argus. Peter gave him a handshake after which the six, headed for dinner.

"You will enjoy the pig meat I had brought today, it was fun poaching him," said Bill. "Do you all eat raw? why don't you cook it?" asked Peter, "I have been thinking the same since I came here but as the old man says, with time it will become a habit," answered Elsa. "Gross!" said Peter making a face of disgust. That night the six, feasted on Pig flesh on the dining.

The Key to Deception

Jordan Kingsley was a man with some bad habits but a good sense of business. His fortune had afforded him many advantages, including various artifacts and awards that adorned his large hall. However, the most prized possession he had acquired in his lifetime was a set of ten rare beads, each worth a million dollars. This fact wasn't a secret among his acquaintances, who included his elder brother, Benjamin Kingsley, his wife, Harriet Kingsley, and their son, Clinton Kingsley. Unfortunately, Clinton was autistic, though remarkably creative, and Jordan felt a special bond with him, sponsoring his education out of genuine love rather than pity. Jordan was selective about those he let into his heart, reserving his true affection for those who earned it. This often excluded his own brother, his brother's wife, and even his business partners. Harriet, aware of Jordan's distant relationship with her son, made efforts to keep Clinton away from Jordan, fearing that the uncle's ...

CHAPTER SIX: THE FLAMES

MAYOR'S OFFICE  Gryffin Scout smoked heavily looking out of the window at the moon. "What are my orders sir," said a cop in the room, "I want to meet JJ Warren, as quick as possible, things are getting insane, I can't take further risks, let's see what he has to offer me, contact him tomorrow morning," said Scout.  THE WAREHOUSE From the window at the roof of the warehouse, a can of fuel fell to the floor, after which a matchstick fell, raising flames in the entire space. Warren looked at the rising flames anxiously when he ran to a corner saving himself from the rising flames approaching him. "Why are you doing this?" Warren shouted in a rage, "I will kill you JJ Warren, I promise you, this will be your end, and I am honored to kill such a worthy opponent tonight!" said the echo. "Leave my friends alone, they are innocent, don't hurt them!" shouted Warren, "They will die before you, I assure you of that, and this w...
