THE WIZARD- ACT 6

 SCENE 1

Nancy, France, Dr. Jacob's Office

In Doctor Jacob's lab, he had set up an apparatus that looks like a laser gun and a bunch of monkeys

Doctor Jacob: I was working on this technology for over two years now, and then I get a letter from you, that you want a demo, which is why I had to collect monkeys

Eadger: Won't you try it on humans?

Doctor Jacob: You wish to volunteer, you are welcome! and if not, try not to ask such sweet silly questions

Charlie: Sweet, Silly Question! You got a competition eh Eadger!

Doctor Jacob: Now what you are about to experience might take away your vision, therefore you must wear these glasses for your own safety.

Charlie: And what about the monkey?

Doctor Jacob: This light works differently for their sight, for him it will just be sunlight.

Charlie: (Whispers to Eadger) Don't tell me you thought this for real? Do you think Thomas used similar technology to control his age?

Eadger: Magic is filled with secrets Charles, you never know what all he is hiding from us, I research too much on his life, and suddenly this new brother pops up, which I don't think is real at all. We had our doubts about everything, except the Almira. We never even for once thought of examining it, and now we are here, to witness evolution.

Doctor Jacob takes a monkey and makes him stand on a platform near the laser guns. On the count of five, Jacob prepares a laser shot at the monkey and then shoots, giving a bright white glow for a fraction of a second to everyone present there.

But the monkey had grown up only a few ages forwards

Eadger: That didn't seem to work!

Doctor Jacob: Wait for it, the results are slow, but very much significant

The team wears the glasses once more and another laser shot is given but this time after 10 seconds of countdown

And the monkey grows up to 10 years ahead of his age but feels injured

Charlie: Stop this! the monkey is getting injured!

Eadger: No, don't stop! make a final shot doctor, if Thomas can do this, we can do this!

Charlie: You are becoming insane Ed

Doctor Jacob: Alright Final shot,

A final shot is given after exactly 30 seconds of the countdown, and a huge glow of light falls into everyone's eye and the laser makes a shot.

The monkey grows up to 30 years ahead of its age but dies because of the radiation's effect. Meanwhile, everyone remains dumbstruck and Jacob is disappointed.

SCENE 2

Nancy, France, Outside Doctor Jacob's hut

Doctor Jacob: Your friend, he is a good man

Eadger: Why because he got scared? a feared man isn't a good man, there is a difference

Doctor Jacob: He is a good man because he has empathy, which neither of us had. Let him stand near the pond for a few hours, and then you can leave for your city.

Eadger: Do you believe in miracles doctor?

Doctor Jacob: Science doesn't believe in miracles Detective, but I personally do.

Eadger: Charlie's mother died due to pneumonia. On her last day, she prepared Charlie's favorite dish, but Charlie couldn't swallow it. His mother observed him from a distance, and Charlie knew it. He didn't want to see his mother leave his world without seeing him smile, for which he performed that miracle. He swallowed the food.

Doctor Jacob: My wife and I separated, because I was alcoholic. After nine months she gave birth to my child. Never thought that my son will become a reason for me to quit all those habits. For me, he was a miracle. What about you Detective?

Eadger: You know why I became a detective. Because my father thought I was different and abnormal. My family couldn't accept this, I couldn't live with myself. But then I found a greater purpose, solving crime, and bringing justice. And then I met Charlie and found a real brother. Relations aren't made from blood, they are made here. My miracle is this life that I live, and I am its wizard. Charlie is my Wizard.

Doctor Jacob: This magician of yours, he is definitely using some old-school trick. I would try to solve this puzzle on my own sometime.

SCENE 3

On a train back to London

Eadger: I am done, I can't run anymore

Charlie: What do you mean?

Eadger: I will confront him tomorrow. In his own theater, I will tell him, how he performed this trick.

Charlie: So you figured it out?

Eadger: We both did, a long time ago, and we were making a mistake all this while.

Charlie: What is it?

Eadger: You will find out!

Chapter 10- The Flaw In Their Plan

Edward slowly stepped out from behind the tree, revealing himself to Peter. He had Professor Flamel pinned by the throat, his wand pressed inches from the old man’s face. “Peter… you don’t understand,” Edward said, advancing. “This is necessary. I have to do this.” Peter backed away, wand raised, heart hammering. “I trusted you,” he choked out. “I thought so highly of you, Professor. How did you even get back into Hogwarts? Who helped you? Tell me!” Edward’s grip on Flamel tightened. “I will tell you everything, Peter. I promise. But let me finish this. I must kill him. Fifteen years I’ve waited—fifteen years for this moment!” “Expelliarmus!” Peter shouted, sending a jet of red light through the air—but Edward snapped his wand and blocked it with ease. “Sectumsempra!” Edward roared. The curse flew at Peter like a black blade. His reflexes kicked in; he dove sideways, but not fast enough. His right cheek tore open, his arm split with a deep gash, and he crashed onto the ground, screamin...

Chapter 5- Bronze Snitch

Fictus Nativitas Peter found the spell in the diary. He murmured the description and usage of the spell slowly, making sure no one in the library could hear him. “Think of the object you wish to mimic—think closely—and then repeat clearly and precisely: Fictus Nativitas.” Peter knew exactly what he needed to mimic, what he needed to create. He practiced the spell under his breath all the way back to the dormitory. Later, sitting upright on his bed after his roommates had fallen asleep, Peter took out the diary once more. He reread the instructions, closed his eyes, and envisioned the wonderful moment he longed for: tomorrow’s match, the Golden Snitch clutched in his hand, his face glowing with triumph as the crowd roared. Peter could almost feel the victory. Slowly, he opened his eyes and raised his wand.  “Fictus Nativitas,” he whispered.                                ...
