THE WIZARD - ACT 2

 SCENE 1

The year 1981, London, Fudge Theater

A large crowd is seated in the theater, everyone eager to watch Thomas Geedar's magic show, Charlie Spencer is also seated among the spectators, and along with him, there is a special guest David Cultman, the son of Mayor, who is eager for Thomas' last act. Thomas enters the stage while the audience claps.

Thomas Geedar: Welcome ladies, and gentlemen, and thank you for looking forward to my show, this was a great show, and I hope you all enjoyed every trick I presented. But the last act is somewhat more special than all the others. Because from now on we make a bet!

David Cultman: (whispers) Hey! that's what I was talking about, and now he will...

Charlie: Come on friend, do not spoil it for me, I know you have seen it several times before.

Thomas Geedar: Thirty years ago, I performed a magic show, using an Almirah. I entered the Almirah and when I came out, I was suddenly seventy years of age! people questioned me, about how is this even possible, they wondered, and I rejoiced in this miracle. Other magicians tried to copy the act, but couldn't go far off, and their tricks were exposed! but this one is something I experience every day, and still after thirty years, I am still seventy years old!

David Cultman: There's a rumor, he will perform that act once again, but this time who knows what comes out of that Almirah!

Charlie: You've told me that before David, you have told me that thousands of times, now let me enjoy the show!

Thomas Geedar: Well, I did my job! and now it's your turn. Anyone! who is able to reveal the magic trick, will be awarded a prize money of 50,000 Pounds! but, the deal is, that if I prove you wrong, you will have to pay me instead, but a sum of 500 pounds! so, who will make his turn first!

David: (Shouting) Me! Me! I will go first!

Thomas Geedar: And, we choose you, what is your name sir?

David: Hi Thomas! my name is David Cultman, I am the son of Cooper Cultman the Mayor of the city, I hope you might be acquainted with that name, everyone. Well, I would like to try to reveal the magic trick that you performed thirty years ago.

Thomas Geedar: Go ahead Mr. Mayor's son! we are all listening to you!

Public giggles, while David feels a little humiliated

David: Well, may I take a look at the Almirah you used,

Thomas: Sure! come on the stage

David goes to the stage, and examines Almira very closely but is unable to figure out anything,

David: Well, after examining this thing, I come to the conclusion that you interchanged with a duplicate! but this duplicate was 70 years old!

Thomas: Something very new, I am amazed! (Public explodes laughing, and David feels uncomfortable), Mr. Mayor's son, the world has already given me that theory thousands of times, and my answer is still the same, a 70-year-old man, will not stay alive for 30 years! and still be in a 70-year-old man's body! definitely, it wasn't some duplicate who was older than me. Seems like, high ranks of parents can't buy common sense! (Public laughs again, and David feels humiliated)

David: How about, you replacing that old man and portraying the old man yourself after he died, does that make sense eh?

Thomas: Well, again, something new! Ladies and Gentlemen! (Public laughs once again) Let's say, I did that, well then, I must be 60 years of age, not 70, but according to all the medical reports, I am in the body of a 70-year-old man. How about that?

David: You could've said that politely. This wasn't Good, I didn't like the way you talk.

Thomas: Rules remain the same, even for Mayor's son, I understand if 500 pounds is a large sum for you! (Public laughs again, and David becomes angry)

David: Alright! I will pay you! but I didn't like the way you humiliated me in front of everyone, and now, you will suffer, you gave me a chance to speak, well, now I will give you a chance to run for the hills!

David throws a bundle of money on Thomas' face and rushes out of the theater in rage, while the public keeps on staring at Thomas, and Charlie leaves the show too after David.

SCENE 2

Next day, London, Mayor's office

David is sitting on a chair next to his father's desk and weeping for the insult he faced in the show last night, while Eadger Erick and Charlie Spencer enter the office.

Cooper Cultman: Charlie, your friend was getting humiliated on stage and you didn't even bother to take a stand for him!

Charlie: I tried to sir, I was signaling him from my seat to get off the stage!

David: Why are you angry with his dad? It wasn't his fault, in fact, he left the show after I did, I want that old faggot getting chased by dogs, to do anything, but torture him!

Eadger Erick: Did he sexually assault you?

David: No

Eadger Erick: Was he your boyfriend who ditched you for some other girl?

David: What Nonsense!

Eadger Erick: Then control your emotions, idiot! I will be doing what I have to! but at least try to cooperate! you are crying like he was some boy or girl you loved, and he left you for someone else! fucking idiot!

Cooper Cultman: Look, detective, this case was handed you over by the committee in which I was involved as well, and it has been five years, and we haven't seen any progress, have you ever tried yet!

Eadger Erick: I am sorry sir, but there are other criminal offenses that need me, rather than searching for the secret to a magic trick.

Cooper Cultman: Well, this man, has robbed several innocent citizens of their money in the name of a bet. I know we do not have any charges for that, but do something to stop him, it is high time.

Eadger Erick: I understand your concerns sir, and I will try my best to do something. But you must understand, that people give him money of their own will, he doesn't force anyone, so there is very little I can do about it. And moreover, even you were neglecting this case and didn't care about so-called innocent people until it was your own son who got robbed. So, please, be patient, and you will get him.

Cooper: Alright, do whatever you want to Detective, but I want this culprit before he pulls off that trick again.

SCENE 3

London, A street

Eadger Erick: Alright everyone, I want you all to enter Thoman Geedar's magic show as crew members, and spy on his daily activities, whatever he does, what he eats, where he lives, who is in his family, and every other small detail.

First Spy: That is fine, but if we want to know more about his personal life, we need to enter his house, and I have heard, he doesn't allow any housekeepers and does everything on his own.

Charlie Spencer: Well, then it will get difficult to keep a close eye on him Eadger, it's us who need to jump to his house.

Eadger: Alright, I understand what you are saying, so, you can enter only his magic show crew, and try looking forward to him performing all the other magic tricks, maybe we will get to know how he thinks, and then we might come to a solution. Me and Charlie will interview Geedar next week, and for that, Charlie, you make an appointment with him, but tell them that the interview must only take place at night.

Charlie: I will do that, but we need a reason to interview him, we can't tell him that we are detectives and are here to find out how you do magic! we need a solid reason to spy on him without him knowing.

Eadger: Good point, so, we will tell him that we are movie directors, deciding to make a biopic on him.

Charlie: That will be great, this way we can keep in touch with him, and he will tell us everything about his life, but still there is a problem, he can lie easily, so we will need some proof, of what he is saying.

Eadger: Charlie, I think you forgot, I became a detective, because I know how to steal, and I know how to steal because I think like them!

 SCENE 4

Next Week, London, Thomas Geedar's guest room

Eadger and Charlie remain seated in the guest room while waiting for Thomas to enter. And finally, Thomas enters the room to welcome his guests.

Thomas Geedar: Welcome Gentlemen, coffee?

Eadger: Well, it's an honor to meet Thomas Geedar, and thank you for making time for us, I really appreciate that.

Thomas: Ah, no problem at all, Coffee?

Charlie: Sure, one cup for me and my...

Eadger: No thanks, I am cutting down on caffeine these days, but yaa, bring one to my subordinate Charlie,

Thomas: Sure no problem

Thomas goes into the kitchen to pour the coffee into cups

Eadger: Dumbass! you are at a magician's house, he might mix up something in his coffee and hypnotize both of us! I still can't understand why you became my subordinate!

Thomas enters the room with a cup of coffee for himself and Charlie

Charlie: Thank you for the coffee sir, but maybe I am done for the day...

Thomas: Ha Ha, I heard you two talking from my kitchen, don't worry sir, I am just a normal magician who likes to drink normal coffee.

Eadger: Well, I am just a little paranoid, it's not about you.

Thomas: Being paranoid, is good, it helps you keep alarmed of your surrounding better than others, but hey, it becomes a curse after a while. Well, let's not dive into it, and get straight to the business, tell me, how can I help you?

Eadger: We are writers sir, and we are working on a movie script that will be your biopic, and therefore we have come to know your story. Would you like to share with us, your personal life, your family history, and every other detail, and yeah! do not forget about the magic trick. We are not here for the secret though, but if you would like to, our ears are ready, and doors are closed.

Thomas: Ha Ha Ha, Even I want to reveal that secret to the world, but they are not prepared for it yet, and talking about your story, excuse me, My Story, there is nothing much to it. I am a boring person, but I still have some tales in my bag.

Eadger: Well then, we would like to unpack that bag, and here is my partner Charlie Spencer, he will pen down as you speak, meanwhile I would like to take a look at your house so that I am able to pen down the description of the place where magic evolves!

Thomas: Sure, you can roam around, meanwhile I give the story to Mr. Spencer, you can go anywhere you want, please help yourself.

The Key to Deception

Jordan Kingsley was a man with some bad habits but a good sense of business. His fortune had afforded him many advantages, including various artifacts and awards that adorned his large hall. However, the most prized possession he had acquired in his lifetime was a set of ten rare beads, each worth a million dollars. This fact wasn't a secret among his acquaintances, who included his elder brother, Benjamin Kingsley, his wife, Harriet Kingsley, and their son, Clinton Kingsley. Unfortunately, Clinton was autistic, though remarkably creative, and Jordan felt a special bond with him, sponsoring his education out of genuine love rather than pity. Jordan was selective about those he let into his heart, reserving his true affection for those who earned it. This often excluded his own brother, his brother's wife, and even his business partners. Harriet, aware of Jordan's distant relationship with her son, made efforts to keep Clinton away from Jordan, fearing that the uncle's ...

CHAPTER SIX: THE FLAMES

MAYOR'S OFFICE  Gryffin Scout smoked heavily looking out of the window at the moon. "What are my orders sir," said a cop in the room, "I want to meet JJ Warren, as quick as possible, things are getting insane, I can't take further risks, let's see what he has to offer me, contact him tomorrow morning," said Scout.  THE WAREHOUSE From the window at the roof of the warehouse, a can of fuel fell to the floor, after which a matchstick fell, raising flames in the entire space. Warren looked at the rising flames anxiously when he ran to a corner saving himself from the rising flames approaching him. "Why are you doing this?" Warren shouted in a rage, "I will kill you JJ Warren, I promise you, this will be your end, and I am honored to kill such a worthy opponent tonight!" said the echo. "Leave my friends alone, they are innocent, don't hurt them!" shouted Warren, "They will die before you, I assure you of that, and this w...
